Slinger in the spotlight at UK Ministry of Defence C-UAS Expo
On 17 July, EOS’ world-leading counter-drone remote weapon system, Slinger, was part of the UK Ministry of Defence’s Counter-Uncrewed Air Systems (C-UAS) Expo on Thorney Island.
Hosted by 16 Regiment Royal Artillery, the event brought together Defence stakeholders from across the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force to examine the UK’s evolving approach to countering drone threats. The day featured outdoor demonstrations, technology exhibits and direct engagement with C-UAS programme teams.
Slinger was part of two layered defence systems featured during the live demonstrations:
- Leonardo’s Falcon Shield – a mobile, multi-sensor system delivering end-to-end detection, tracking, identification and defeat of small UAS.
- MARSS Group’s NiDAR – an AI-enabled C2 platform designed for real-time threat detection, tracking and response across multiple domains.
Our thanks to Leonardo and MARSS for including Slinger in their demonstrations, and to 16 Regiment Royal Artillery for hosting the event.
The Expo provided a valuable opportunity to see how kinetic defeat options like Slinger can integrate into broader multi-layered defence architectures. It also offered a chance to hear directly from UK Defence teams shaping future C-UAS capability.
