Dr Schwer was appointed as Chief Executive Officer in August 2022 and appointed as Managing Director in December 2023. An accomplished executive leader with deep international experience – including in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and North America – Dr Schwer has had a varied career in the defence and space domains. His previous experience includes senior positions in the global defence industry, including fourteen years at Airbus Group and five years at the German defence company Rheinmetall AG. Dr Schwer has a thorough understanding of the Company’s global operations, having acted, most recently, as President of EOS EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) for two years, during which time he oversaw the expansion of the company’s operations in NATO and Middle Eastern markets. Among his qualifications, he holds a PhD in the field of system modelling and numerical optimisation. Appointed to the Board on 11 December 2023.
Mr Cuthell was appointed in September 2022. In a broad-ranging career as a finance executive, he has spent more than 15 years in the CFO role at several ASX-listed and multinational corporations operating in various global sectors, including manufacturing, industrials, satellite communications and fast-moving consumer goods. A specialist in turnaround, change and growth, Mr Cuthell is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. A graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, he is also a Non-Executive Chairman of Learning Links, a Sydney-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ensuring children facing learning difficulties are not disadvantaged.
Mr Tobergte was appointed Executive Vice President, EOS Defence Systems (International) in April 2024. He brings a wealth of expertise from his tenure at Rheinmetall AG, where he led the global sales of the Weapon and Ammunition Division as Senior Vice President. Mr Tobergte has a proven track record in international business development, strategic partnerships, and global sales, having held positions in Cairo, Düsseldorf, Zurich, and Abu Dhabi. He holds a degree in Political Science and Economics from RWTH Aachen University.
Mr Cook was appointed Executive Vice President, EOS Defence Systems (Australia) in November 2023. He has worked for several large multinational corporations in Australia and the UK in both technical and commercial leadership roles with both product development and manufacturing as a focus. During his 24 years in senior leadership roles in Australia’s defence industries he has overseen the development of significant industrial capabilities benefitting Australia’s defence forces and generating substantial exports. His engineering qualifications and status as a Chartered Professional Engineer are complemented by an MBA degree.
