One Giant Leap Australia Foundation and Electro Optic Systems (EOS) are offering three high school students a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to receive a partial scholarship, valued at $5000, to attend Space Tour USA 2024.

EOS is pleased to announce the appointment of Shawn Baerlocher as CEO of EOS Defense Systems USA. Shawn will work with Christian Tobergte, Executive Vice President, Defence Systems (International). Shawn brings over 30 years of experience in leading multiple defense programs across the entire Department of Defense and other government agencies.

The Australian Army Drone Racing Team is composed of Army personnel who are not only enthusiasts but skilled operators, representing the Army in various national and international drone racing competitions. Their mission extends beyond competition, aiming to enhance technical skills and promote the strategic use of uncrewed aerial systems within the military framework.

EOS reported a positive first quarter of 2024 with key highlights being a revenue of $77.3m and cash receipts from customers amounting to $52.1m. Additionally, the company raised net proceeds of $33.6m from an institutional placement. By the end of the quarter, EOS maintained a healthy cash reserve of $72.4m. Post-quarter, the company made a $20.5m full repayment on its Working Capital Facility.

EOS Defense Systems USA showcased its advanced R600 Remote Weapon Station, mounted on a robotic infantry support vehicle, at the US Army's Project Convergence Capstone 4. The system, equipped with a cannon and missiles, successfully engaged aerial and ground targets, highlighting its precision and effectiveness in combat scenarios.

EM Solutions has recently received additional customers orders valued at $19m and EOS Space Technologies has secured a $5m contact with the ADF Joint Capabilities Division in Australia.

The most recent ADM Top 40 Defence Contractors Survey, released in the December/January edition of ADM, also revealed Australia's twenty largest defence exporters by value. A number of these companies have seen significant jumps between 2022 and 2023, especially those with counter-UAS technologies.
