Eurosatory 2026: Looking back on a milestone week

Eurosatory 2026 provided Electro Optic Systems (EOS) with an opportunity to showcase the continued evolution of its defence and space capabilities to customers, partners and government representatives from around the world.

The multi-domain exhibition marked the first major international showcase of EOS and MARSS together, demonstrating how MARSS' AI-enabled command and control capability integrates with EOS' sensors and effectors to deliver layered defence capability.

On display were the Apollo high energy laser weapon, Slinger counter-drone remote weapon system (RWS), Interceptor-MR, the R150, R500 and R800 RWS, and the Atlas space control capability. Live demonstrations of the MARSS NiDAR AI-enabled command and control platform and EOS' real-time space object tracking complemented the static displays, giving visitors the opportunity to see both technologies in operation.

EOS systems were also represented across the exhibition through partner integrations with Milrem Robotics, Thales, Oshkosh Defense, and KNDS France.

Eurosatory also provided the backdrop for several significant business announcements.

EOS announced Nice as the location for its European C2 AI hub. Anchored by the headquarters of MARSS, the investment includes more than €10 million and is expected to create up to 150 jobs over three years.

MARSS was selected by BAE Systems as the command and control provider for its Anti Threat System (BATS), with NiDAR serving as the intelligent "nerve centre" integrating sensors and effectors.

The week concluded with EOS announcing a US$124 million order for its Slinger Counter-Drone Remote Weapon System from Generation 5 Holding L.L.C., alongside a conditional joint venture agreement focused on next-generation high energy laser weapon systems.

EOS also contributed to the Eurosatory programme through the roundtable discussion Countering the Swarm: AI, Lasers and the Future of C-UAS, alongside on-stand presentations by Dr Andreas Schwer, Dr James Bennett and Mark Dixon covering integrated defence technologies, high energy laser weapons, space control capability and multi-mission kinetic solutions.
