One Giant Leap Australia and EOS Supporting Future Space Leaders with Space Camp USA Scholarships
One Giant Leap Australia Foundation (One Giant Leap Australia) and Electro Optic Systems (EOS) are offering four high school students a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to receive a partial scholarship, valued at $5,000, to attend Space Tour USA 2025.
The tour will take the young space explorers to the renowned Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama, from 28 October to 9 November 2025. Space Camp, which has been operational for over 42 years and has more than one million alumni, is an internationally recognised program based on NASA astronaut training and focuses on teamwork and leadership skills.
One Giant Leap Australia has provided tours to Space Camp since 2015 and the space education organisation is excited to return.
"For the second year running, EOS has made it possible for successful students to significantly reduce the cost of their trip," said Jackie Carpenter, Director of the One Giant Leap Australia Foundation. "The experience continues to be transformative—past attendees of our Space Tour USA often describe it as a defining moment in their lives," Ms Carpenter shared. "Thanks to EOS, we are once again able to provide this extraordinary opportunity to students who might not otherwise have the chance to take part."
Building on this Executive Vice President of EOS Space Systems, Dr James Bennett, said: “EOS is committed to nurturing homegrown talent by investing in STEM initiatives that equip young Australians with the skills and experience to thrive in the space industry. Through internships, scholarships, and our partnership with One Giant Leap and Space Camp USA, we are proud to help shape the next generation of space professionals.”
The tour’s itinerary includes visits to Disneyland, California Science Centre, Northrop Grumman, and the Griffith Observatory. The schedule also features a day of STEM activities with One Giant Leap’s USA STEM expert, dinner with NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory scientists and engineers, and a visit to Space Camp USA.
