EOS RWS Acceptance by the Royal Thai Army and DTI

Singapore-based EOS Defence Systems Pte Limited, a subsidiary of Electro Optic Systems, is pleased to announce its first remote weapon station (RWS) acceptance by the Thailand Defence Technology Institute (DTI).

The successful integration of the EOS R400S-Mk2-HD RWS with the Milrem Robotics THeMIS combat unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) was fully endorsed by DTI and will be tested and evaluated by the Royal Thai Army in the near future. President for the Asia Pac region Henry Heng said, “This is an important milestone for EOS. We are delighted to attain the successful acceptance of EOS Remote Weapon Station by the DTI Acceptance Team, of which the performance and ease of operation was noteworthy. We will continue to support DTI in their endeavour to publicise the RCV capabilities to the end-user community”

The R400S-Mk2-HD RWS is “plug-and-play” compatible with other EOS weapon systems and below armour control systems are linked to above armour mounting and cabling. The advanced technology of the RWS combined with the lightweight 30mm Northrop Grumman M230LF cannon provides light vehicles with unprecedented access to firepower normally preserved for much heavier (armoured) vehicles.

EOS RWS are in service with nine countries, over 2000 systems have been delivered over the past ten years.  EOS Singapore celebrated its ten-year anniversary in 2021; the company was established to support the sale and subsequent sustainment of its R600 RWS to the Singapore Army. This was the first dual-weapon station produced by EOS and is mounted on the ST Engineering Land Systems Terrex 8 x8 Infantry Fighting Vehicle.  Winning the Singapore tender paved the way for greater presence in the Asia Pacific market, the company has grown from the original three employees in a joint facility to today having thirteen employees across two facilities, responsible for the continued sustainment of the in-service RWS and for all EOS business development in the Asia Pacific.
