EOS Double Defence Industry Award Winner
EOS last night received recognition for its defence and space businesses at the inaugural 2019 Defence Connect Australian Defence Industry Awards.
- EOS Defence Systems received the award for Export Business of the Year.
- EOS Space Systems received the award for Space Business of the Year.
Held at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, the black tie gala event brought together the “who’s who” at the Australian defence industry’s night of nights. Recognising leading professionals and businesses, rather than products and platforms, the Australian Defence Industry Awards universally acknowledges all defence industry stakeholders – from primes, SMEs, academic institutions and associations, through to high-performing individuals such as defence executives, Indigenous and female leaders, students, scientists, technicians and academics.
Speaking at the awards presentation Prof. Craig Smith, CEO of EOS Space Systems, said:
“EOS has been engaged in defence space for over 33 years. I believe this award is a recognition of the significant contributions made by EOS towards space situation awareness and in particular the management and mitigation of space debris. Our technology continues to find new roles in securing safe and reliable access to space.”
On receiving the award for Export Business of the Year on behalf of EOS Defence Systems, Dr Warwick Holloway said:
“This award is recognition of the intensive efforts of EOS staff and suppliers in rapidly expanding Australian production of defence products from $25 million in export value annually to $150 million in only two years. Preparations for the next capacity increase to $300 million annually are already advanced.”
