Commonwealth Contract Negotiations Complete

EOS Defence Systems signed a contract with the Commonwealth of Australia (COA) today to deliver 251 Remote Weapons Systems (RWS). The contract is valued at over AU$94 million and will not only enhance Australian Army capability and secure EOS’ supplier base, but will boost Australian jobs and create opportunities for small businesses.

The contract finalisation includes AU$28.5 million of cash flow to EOS in Q4 2020 that will assist in securing the EOS Australia supply chain consisting of 146 SMEs and over 1100 employees. The 251 RWS systems will be integrated on to Bushmaster and Hawkei protected mobility vehicles. Forty RWS are scheduled for delivery in Q4 2020, with the remainder to be delivered in 2021.

Speaking of the contracting signing:

The Minister for Defence Industry Melissa Price said:
“The project draws on Australian-owned and developed intellectual property, with more than 80 per cent of the parts sourced through the EOS’ Australian supply chain of more than 140 Australian companies. “This will help to deliver ongoing certainty for the EOS workforce in engineering and support, and certainty for EOS’ national supply chain.”

The contract signing event between the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and EOS Defence Systems was held virtually on Microsoft Teams. With Major General Andrew Bottrell, General Manager Joint, Systems and Air, and Brigadier J-P. Ouvrier, Director General Land Vehicle Systems based in Victoria signing on behalf of CASG, and Grant Sanderson, CEO Defence Systems and Juli Cassie, VP Programs based at Symonston signing on behalf of EOS Defence Systems.
