Wide Field Imager Design

Orbiting objects with known orbital elements are relatively easy to track optically. For objects whose orbit is initially unknown, new instruments are necessary. The wide field imager produced by EOS Space Systems is capable of detecting objects moving through its field, such that by staring into space a moving object creates a track which can be followed and new orbital data obtained. This paper describes the design methods used to create a small imager with high sensitivity over a wide field of view and the performance of the EOSSS wide field imager product.
